Dear Friends,
Blessings to you as we prepare for the Lenten season. Once again, together, we embark on a journey of reflection, meditation, prayer, worship and service over the course of the next several weeks.
Please join us by participating in our Lenten religious observances and in our faith formation opportunities:
• Beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023 we will celebrate Mass with Ash distribution at 8:30am, 12 noon and 6:30pm
• Thursday, February 23, 2023 through Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 6:30pm in the church, Doctor John Hench will present a series of lectures on the life and teachings of the early church Fathers
• Friday, February 24, 2023 through Friday, March 31, 2023 Stations of the Cross in English will be in the church at 6:30pm, and Spanish Stations of the Cross will be at 8:00pm
• Monday, March 1, 2023 through March 31, 2023 the Adoration Chapel will be opened Monday and Tuesday 6:00am until 10pm, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00am until 4:00pm
• Monday, February 27, 2023 through April 5, 2023 Daily Mass will be celebrated at 8:30am
• Confessions will be heard each Thursday during Lent at 9:30am.
• The Reconciliation Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 6:30pm
HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE – The most sacred week in the liturgical year for Christians begins with Palm Sunday and ends with Easter Sunday.
• Palm Sunday also called Passion Sunday. Palms distributed at all Sunday Masses (Vigil at 4:00pm, 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am (Procession of Palms) and 1:00pm Spanish)
• Easter Triduum
○ Holy Thursday – Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 6:30pm and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament beginning at 8:00pm until midnight in the parish center
○ Good Friday – Commemorating Jesus’ Passion, Crucifixion and His death at Calvary. Service at 12noon and 6:30pm
○ Holy Saturday – The Great Easter Vigil Mass, begins with the Fire, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Baptism and Confirmation Mass is at 8:00pm
○ Easter Sunday – Masses are at 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am and 1:00pm (Spanish)
God gives us another opportunity in the year 2023 to respond to the call of the prophet Joel who reminds us “Now is the time to come back to God”.
